Divepoint Maldives
Divepoint Maldives grew out of the local-island guesthouse boom — diving from inhabited islands rather than private resorts, at a fraction of the cost. The main base is on Maafushi (40 minutes south of Malé by speedboat), with an affiliated centre on Thulusdhoo for the surf-and-dive crowd. Daily boats reach the South Malé channel sites (Cocoa Corner, Kandooma Thila, Guraidhoo) and Vaavu shark dives on overnight trips. Courses run through to Divemaster.
Pricing is quoted locally in USD or EUR; THB-equivalent shown here for comparison. Suits budget-minded divers wanting Maldives diving without resort pricing, and those happy with local island accommodation (no alcohol, conservative dress on shore). Less suited to luxury travellers, to divers wanting the seaplane-access outer atolls, or to anyone needing the on-water comfort of a liveaboard.
