Ban's Diving Resort
Ban's has been operating on Sairee Beach since 1992 and is consistently among the highest-volume PADI 5★ IDC centres globally by certifications issued. The operation is large by design: multiple boats, classrooms running in parallel, and an on-site resort with pool, restaurant, bar and rooms ranging from fan dorms to AC bungalows. Courses run daily in several languages and the instructor pool is correspondingly deep, which suits divers who want flexibility on start dates and language matching.
The trade-off is scale — group sizes sit at PADI standards rather than boutique caps, and the resort atmosphere is social and busy rather than quiet. Suits backpackers, gap-year students and anyone wanting the full Koh Tao social experience with eat-sleep-dive logistics under one roof. Less suited to divers seeking small, slow-paced groups or a quieter base.
